After never originally finishing off some unused and un accessible space over an existing attached 2-car garage. S.J. OVERSTREET CONSTRUCTION CO, INC. was hired to design and construct a new family room. That would be accessible from a new flight of stairs off the existing sun room. Along with making the new space accessible to the existing home. S.J. O. was challenged to assure the existing functions of the sun room weren’t jeopardized. Custom built in window seats and wet bar cabinets were just some of the additional features designed into the new space to provide a first-class place for entertaining while encompassing the beautiful water views outside of the home.

Whether your house is 10 years old or over 150 years old such as this particular residence. S.J. OVERSTREET CONSTRUCTION CO, INC. has the experience, knowhow and skill set to renovate, expand and restore any structure. S.J.O. has been known to bring its own splash from the fountain of youth to these older structures we have worked on. While also meshing in new construction so that additions and alterations can not only serve there purpose. But also blend into the original design so it appears that it was always there. When the owners of this private residence came to S.J. OVERSTREET CONSTRUCTION CO, Inc. looking for help. S.J.O. collectively worked with the clients to design and construct a larger eating area that would flow with an incorporated kitchen renovation. While at the same time removing an existing poorly built mudroom structure then construct a more elegant and comfortable entry. During construction S.J.O. also updated the home with new blown-in insulation, vinyl siding, gutters and roofing.

In addition to adding a new 1,000 s.f. family room and master suite addition to this private residence S.J. OVERSTREET CONSTRUCTION CO, INC. was given the challenge to customize this late 1990′s spec . house and transform the exterior into a custom home. By removing various brick facades, rebuilding the exterior gables, fascias and soffits. Adding crown molding details and cedar shingle flairs SJO used it’s creative imagination along with ideas from a talented architect to really change the exterior look of this home. If you pay close attention to the photos of the existing home. You will see that SJO used strategically orchestrated changes such as a cantilever bump out bay, new front entry way with a Juliet balcony supported by decorative columns and rails. Elliptical trim details at the side entry and front entryway transom, head casings and copula etc. to complete this alteration. The end result was a satisfied client and a beautiful home that now appears as nice on the exterior as it also functions inside.
